A summer of Shoretrax in the Chilterns

Having had the wettest winter since records began, it’s hard to remember just what a fantastic summer we had in 2013 with temperatures soaring above 30 degrees at some of the events we attended.


So fingers crossed the weather is kind to us again in 2014 at the different shows, festivals, carnivals and events we’ll be heading to throughout the year with a Shoretrax portable MTB track, route guides, maps, info and advice to help people get out on their bikes.

thelittlebikecompanyAll of our Shoretrax events are supported by The Little Bike Company in Berkhamsted who provide us with lightweight, high quality, children’s bikes for participants to use. They are sometimes on hand during the day to offer great advice for buying your child a bike or how to improve their cycling. At certain events, they will also be running a “Balance Bike Time Trial” with a special prize.

Here are a few of the dates and venues we’re looking to be at so far:

Hertfordshire County Show, 24th & 25th May 2014

“The annual Hertfordshire County Show traditionally takes place over the late May Bank Holiday weekend, attracting up to 38,000 visitors & displaying the best of Hertfordshire. Come and see animals ranging from huge bulls to tiny ducks, spectacular displays and educational demonstrations. Join us for a fantastic family day out, combining free entertainment, fun, food and shopping. Bringing communities together we are ‘Proud to Promote Hertfordshire’.”

Bucks County Show, Thursday 28th August 2014

Attractions for this year will include:
– Band tbc
– The Sheep Show
– Vintage Tractors
– Home & Garden and Shopping Marquee
– Food Hall
– Rural Crafts and Demonstrations
– Countryside Area
– Over 200 Trade Stands
– Horse & Livestock Showing Classes
– Show Jumping

Along with much, much more for all the family and all ages and interests, so do not miss out and visit us this year for another fantastic day out.

Cycle Chilterns will be attending with a Shoretrax and a range of bikes for adults and kids bikes from the Little Bike Co. If you are a CTC member and would like to volunteer to help us at this event, you can apply here

Tour of Britain Finish Activities, Hemel Hempstead, Friday 12th September 2014 12-6pm

Just one of a number of cycling activities taking place in Gadebridge Park as part of the Tour of Britian Stage 6 finish activities and celebration. Cycle Chilterns will be running a Shoretrax session alongside a CTC inclusive cycling session with adapted bikes so come along and find out more about the community and campaign work CTC do with the chance of winning a mini-iPad. The Little Bike Company will be running a Balance Bike Time Trial alongside the Shoretrax. Full activity details can be found here

Chilterns Countryside and Food Festival, Sunday 14th September 2014 10am-4pm

Taking place at the stunning National Trust Ashridge Estate every year, the festival celebrates all things Chilterns. We’ll have a number of activities taking place over the weekend as well as competitions and some freebies: a Shoretrax track, electric bike to try, Balance Bike Time Trial and more.
