It’s going to be a busy summer of cycling in Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire, with a whole host of new and fun cycling activities taking place: a Brewery Ride, Health Rides, Dr Bike sessions, Ladies Rides and not forgetting the Tour of Britain in September. And we’re kicking things off with a Cyclists’ Breakfast on Monday 23rd June 2014.
So what better way to start your new cycle commuting regime than by joining us for a free breakfast from The Pantry on Platform 1. All cyclists who arrive at the station between 6.30am and 9.30am on Monday 23rd will be given a voucher for a drink and breakfast – mocha, hot bacon rolls, a Danish pastry, granola with fruit and berries, whatever takes your fancy. On us!
We’ve been working closely with Chiltern Railways and Buckinghamshire County Council over the last few months to make improvements to the cycle parking at Great Missenden train station with a new shelter at the front of the station and a work stand and pump also being installed soon.
So whether you’re a commuter catching the train, on your way to school, passing through or out on your early morning club run, swing by for an early morning treat and find our more about what’s happening in the area this year:
- Great Missenden to Chiltern Brewery ride – Saturday 19th July 2014. Ride and a free pint!
- Dr Bike sessions – starting 24th June, then last Tuesday of the month, 4-7pm
- Health Rides – Great Missenden/Prestwood, Wednesdays during June and July
- Ladies rides – more info coming soon
Breakfast will be available from The Pantry on Platfrom 1, a fantastic little cafe/deli at Great Missenden station. Open 7 days a week from the first train until the last, this makes for the perfect mid-ride stop any time you’re in the area.
They have an excellent range of fresh hot and cold food on offer, fairtraide coffee and lots of local produce including Chiltern rapeseed oil, jam, cheese and chocolate!
