The sunshine brought out the crowds, with 35,000 people attending the 2013 Herts County Show over two days. For Cycle Chilterns, the busy show was our first opportunity to tell people more about the exciting new cycle tourism project and what other cycling activities we’ll be up to during the summer.
As the first of many events we will be attending throughout the project, the popular traditional agricultural show was the perfect start to the summer with bright blue skies and sunshine. The Shoretrax portable mountain bike track proved very popular with young and old alike, with over 400 riders jumping on one of the many bikes available to give it a go.
The track is a fun way for children and adults to try mountain biking and help get people active and back on their bikes. It’s also a great way to promote the activities available at Wendover and Aston Hill in Buckinghamshire – one of the best mountain bike parks in the south east – with skills training, a pumptrack and downhill and cross-country mountain bike trails.
