Working in partnership with Sustrans, CycleFleet and Cafe Africa we’re offering Amersham cyclists the chance to ‘winterise’ their bikes with free lights, mudguards and even a hot drink while they wait.
Next Tuesday 21st January the CycleFleet mechanics will be at the Sycamore Road market in Amersham from 9am until 3pm. During the day a Dr Bike session will be available to perform basic bicycle safety checks and for those that want them, free mudguards and cycle lights will also be fitted. (On a first come, first served basis.)
Other free Dr Bike sessions in Amersham will take place on the following dates:
- Saturday 15th February, Cafe Africa, 10-2pm
- Saturday 15th March, Cafe Africa, 10-2pm
The free session is being jointly funded by CTC’s Cycle Chilterns project and the Sustrans ‘Access to Stations Project’ with more free Dr Bike sessions planned to take place during 2014. We’ll be announcing these dates as soon as they are confirmed.
The ‘Access to Stations’ project is being run by Sustrans and Buckinghamshire County Council and aims to promote walking, cycling and public transport as a way to access railway stations across Bucks. Find out more on the Bucks website.
CycleFleet are a small bike shop just outside Great Missenden. We will be working with them throughout 2014 to provide free Dr Bike sessions in the area. Full listings are available on our ‘Events’ page.
